Fledglings
Reflecting on my time living, changing, and growing up in Boston post-college for The Q Review.
Good morning, everyone! Recently, a piece of mine about living in Boston was published in The Quinobequin Review — a literary journal for the greater Boston area. More about its founder and her reasons for creating the journal here. This is the first time my writing has made it out of the screen and onto a page (especially a page people pay for) and so the whole thing has been pretty exciting. “You are an artist when you say you are” is an Amanda Palmer quote I learned from a friend recently. I will say that I am a writer but to believe it, small acts of legitimacy — like publication — sure don’t hurt.
The journal is print only. If you’re in Boston, it can be found at various coffee shops and bookstores like Ula Cafe, 1369 Coffee House, Park Street Books, Newtonville Books, Frugal Bookstore, and Andala. If you’re not in Boston, I’m including a copy of my piece here.
Thanks for reading. If this inspired any thoughts, memories, or feelings in you, I would love to hear them.
This was lovely Kiera. A certain nostalgic wistfulness. Great piece (:
Love this Kiera!!!
